It has recently been announced that Nestle will develop a $4m coffee and cocoa research centre in the Ivory Coast. The Ivory coast, which was once one of the worlds largest producers of coffee, has seen their production plummet as their infrastructure has deteriorated and the country has been plagued by war.

It is hoped that the “research will help improve the nutritional value and yield of our raw materials, to address nutritional needs around the world” says Nestle’s Johannes Baensch.
